Dale Nicholson

Dale Nicholson, President & General Manager of KATV Television, Inc. in Little Rock and  native of Warren, Arkansas, began his career in broadcasting in 1960 at KTVE-TV in El Dorado, and joined KATV in 1962. He has served as KATV’s President and General Manager since 1974.

Nicholson has been awarded the National Humanitarian Award from the National Conference for Community and Justice, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Advertising Federation, and the Pioneer Award from Arkansas Broadcasters Association. He has served on the executive committee of the Downtown Partnership and as a commissioner for the MetroCenter Commission for Downtown Little Rock. He has previously served on the boards of the American Heart Association/Arkansas Chapter, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, National Conference for Community and Justice, Boy Scouts of Americas, Children’s Museum of Arkansas, Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, and was President of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association in 1988.   Nicholson served as promotion advisory chairman for the ABC Affiliate Board 1985-‘88 and on ABC’s Board of Governor’s 1989-’92.

Nicholson resided in Little Rock with his wife Pat until he passed in 2013. Nicholson’s daughter, Kelli Miller, and her family reside in Little Rock as well. Nicholson’s son, Nick, and his wife live in Phoenix, AZ. where he is President and General Manager for KTVK Television. Dale’s grandson, Dale Nicholson III, anchors the weekend sports for KATV.
